Themed after a South African wildlife reserve, the Animal Kingdom Lodge has drawn thousands of guests and visitors since it opened in April of 2001.  Zebra, giraffe, ostrich, ankole cattle and wildebeest are just a few of the types of animals you will see during a visit to this resort.  Besides enjoying the animals from your savannah view balcony, there are a number of viewing spots located throughout the resort.  Make sure you bring plenty of film for your camera and a hearty appetite.  You can get a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner at Mara, the food court.  Boma offers an excellent breakfast and dinner buffet.  For a sumptuous meal, try Jiko.  Wine enthusiasts will appreciate their extensive selection of African wines.  The Uzima Springs pool is themed after a large watering hole.  There is a great poolside bar located nearby with plenty of shaded seating.  The Zawadi marketplace offers an abundance of African themed merchandise including baskets, fabrics, masks, African clothing and more!  You'll want to set aside a day to enjoy all the amenities of this resort.
